FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A Moment of Collaborative Power and Narrative Freedom
July 2025 | Global — Keemiya Creatives is proud to announce that its founder, Namrata, has been appointed Editor at Ananke Mag, the leading new media and development platform focused on inclusive, feminist storytelling.
This announcement arrives in August, a month heavy with historical memory and symbolic meaning, when South Asia commemorates its collective freedom from colonial rule. Against this backdrop, Namrata’s editorial leadership at Ananke Mag marks a celebration of independence, a reclamation of voice, and a refusal to let inherited systems define future storytelling.
“At its core, storytelling is freedom,” says Namrata. “Freedom to feel, to express, to take up space. To become Editor of a platform like Ananke, while staying true to Keemiya Creatives’ founding mission, is to walk the path of solidarity and shared purpose. In this act, we reclaim editorial spaces that were once shaped by exclusion, and reimagine them with care, courage, and community.”
Namrata will lead Ananke’s editorial direction with full creative control while continuing to guide Keemiya Creatives—India’s leading literary consultancy—as its primary focus. She has also been serving as Director of Operations at Ananke Mag, where her strategic vision has already shaped the platform’s trajectory.
This partnership is not a merging of identities but a coalition of values: decolonial storytelling, intersectional feminism, and the creation of literary ecosystems rooted in care rather than hierarchy.
“Namrata’s appointment as Editor marks a pivotal moment not just for Ananke, but for feminist media at large. Her unwavering commitment to inclusive narratives and equitable storytelling perfectly aligns with our mission to challenge colonial frameworks and patriarchal structures in media. This isn’t merely a change in title. It is a deepening of intent. Together, we are cultivating a space that amplifies marginalized voices, nurtures collective leadership, and stands as a testament to what radical collaboration across the Global South can achieve.”— Sabin Muzaffar, Founding Editor, Ananke
